Evaluating a job offer beyond the salary
Benefits, schedule, commute and growth often matter more than the headline number.

Count the benefits
Two offers ₱2,000 apart can reverse once you price the benefits: HMO coverage (worth several thousand a month if you buy it yourself), meal or transport allowances, paid leave beyond the legal five days, and a guaranteed 13th month versus one absorbed into "packages". Ask for the complete list before deciding.
Price the commute honestly
A role ₱3,000 higher that adds two hours of daily commuting costs more in money, time and health than it pays. Compute the real monthly transport spend and the hours lost — our commute-math guide walks through the corridors.
Look at growth and stability
Ask what the role becomes in a year — the skills you will build, whether people get promoted internally, and how long the team has been stable. A slightly lower offer from an employer who trains and promotes regularly usually compounds better than a dead-end premium.
